The term "Second Generation" in DTR parlance refers to Dodge Rams of model years 1994-2002. This is the second generation of the Dodge Ram body in which the Cummins Diesel was an available option. This is not to be confused with the second (1994-1998 12V) and third (1998-2002 24V) generations of the Cummins turbodiesel itself, both of which which were offered within the second generation Dodge Ram.
